Reporting of fraud data related to payment services – updated reporting template available
The Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) has released an updated workbook in the Jakelu distribution service for the reporting of fraud data related to payment services (MF). Reporting must be made using the updated templates for the first time by 28 February 2021 (concerning payment transactions executed between 1 July and 31 December 2020).
In accordance with the European Banking Authority’s (EBA) Guidelines published in January 2020 (EBA/GL/2018/05), two new categories related to non-strong customer authentication have been added to the data breakdowns for card payment and electronic money transactions as well as related validation rules: ‘Merchant initiated transactions’ and ‘Other’. The change concerns templates MF03, MF04 and MF06 in the FIN-FSA workbook. In addition, incorrect wordings in the template on cash withdrawals (MF05) have been revised in line with the updated EBA Guidelines.
We would also like to point out that the FIN-FSA has introduced validation formulas into the workbook to ensure the quality of data reported. The figures in the templates must match in accordance with the validation rules stated in the EBA Guideline before the report can be sent to the FIN-FSA.
