EBA’s Guidelines on the treatment of structural FX under Article 352(2) of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 (CRR) incorporated into the FIN-FSA’s Regulations and guidelines
On 1 July, 2020 the European Banking Authority (EBA) issued Guidelines on the treatment of structural FX under Article 352(2) of Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 (CRR) (EBA/GL/2020/09). The Guidelines will enter into force on 1 January 2022.
Among other things, EBA’s Guidelines provide practical clarification on
- the positions qualifying as structural FX positions as referred to in Article 352(2) of the CRR
- the governance arrangements of such FX positions
- the measurement of such FX positions.
The FIN-FSA has stated that it will comply with the Guidelines in its supervision. The EBA’s Guidelines will be incorporated into the FIN-FSA’s Regulations and guidelines 5/2019, Regulations and Guidelines related to the Capital Requirements Regulation, in connection with the forthcoming update.
