EBA extends the deadline for the application of its Guidelines on payment moratoria in the light of the COVID-19 crisis
On 2 April 2020, the European Banking Authority EBA issued Guidelines on legislative and non-legislative moratoria on loan repayments applied in the light of the COVID-19 crisis. The FIN-FSA published a supervision release on the Guidelines on 6 April 2020, stating that it will comply with them in its supervision. A separate release was published on 25 June 2020 on the incorporation of the Guidelines into the FIN-FSA’s set of regulations and guidelines.
In its press release of 18 June 2020, EBA announced that it has extended the deadline for the application of its Guidelines on payment moratoria by three months to 30 September 2020. EBA has updated Guidelines on 25 June 2020. The FIN-FSA will comply with the extended deadline in its supervision.
