EBA published first draft technical package for 4.1 reporting framework | EBA
The European Banking Authority (EBA) has published a draft technical package for version 4.1 of its reporting framework. The package is for use in regulatory reporting and the EBA welcomes comments on it until 15 April 2025.
The technical package provides standard specifications for regulatory reporting, including validation rules, the data point model (DPM) and XBRL taxonomies to support the following reporting obligations:
- Pillar 3 disclosure templates included in the comprehensive ITS on Pillar 3 disclosures. The data are reported directly to the EBA, which publishes them centrally on its website in accordance with Articles 434 and 434a of the EU Capital Requirements Regulation (so-called Pillar 3 data hub)
- EBA Guidelines on additional reporting obligations for issuers of asset-referenced tokens (ARTs) and issuers of electronic money tokens (EMTs) whose reference is not an official currency of an EU Member State (to date, no domestic reporters subject to reporting obligations)
- Reporting for credit institutions, payment institutions and e-money institutions under the Instant Payment Regulation (see also Reporting release 13 February 2025)
- In addition, a series of validation rules have been added to the ESG ad-hoc data collection module.
The final version of the technical package for the 4.1 reporting framework is expected to be published at the end of May 2025 and it will include any corrections resulting from stakeholder feedback.
In June 2024, the EBA published its plan for the implementation of DPM 2.0. The draft technical package for version 4.1 published by the EBA continues the transition to DPM 2.0 and the new glossary. This draft technical package includes versions of the contents of the Data Dictionary, used in describing reporting obligations, in both the old format DPM 1.0 and the new format DPM 2.0.
The FAQs published by EBA in December 2024 provide additional explanations on the transition to DPM 2.0 and the new glossary, and are available on the EBA website.
The EBA welcomes comments and suggestions on the draft technical package 4.1 by 15 April 2025, and on the DPM new glossary at any time until the transition is completed. Feedback can be sent using the EBA form.
Further information on the XBRL taxonomy and the DPM model applying to ITS reporting as well as related content is available on the EBA website.
