Reporting release 18 June 2018 – 23/2018

New version of FIN-FSA Reporting Application downloadable from Jakelu Distribution Service | EBA EIOPA ESMA

The Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) Reporting Application (XBRL/XML) version 14.1.8 and new Excel workbooks are now available for download in the Jakelu Distribution Service. The FIN-FSA recommends using the latest version of the application in reporting. Minor errors that emerged during use of the application have been corrected in the new version.

EBA, EIOPA and ESMA

The header file must comply with the specifications set out by the FIN-FSA. Information about the specifications can be found in the Description of electronic reporting enclosed in the Reporting Application's installation package and in the specifications set out by the European Supervisory Authorities.

Please note: when using the Reporting Application's workbooks, the application must be installed on the workstation of each user of the workbooks and the application's Excel Add-in program must be active. The Reporting Application's workbooks may not be used without an active Excel add-in. If the workbooks are used without an active Excel add-in, none of the values entered into the workbook will be saved in the application's database.

EBA and EIOPA

When reporters have imported data from external source files (CSV or XBRL files) to the workbooks in previous versions of the application, these source files have, in some situations, lacked values for formula cells. This may have led to validation errors. The application has not calculated the formula cell values until the reporter has activated the forms/background variables in the formula cells in question.

The application has now been modified so that it no longer requires the reporter to manually activate each form and/or background variable in order to calculate formula cell values. The application calculates values imported to its workbooks according to the formulas in the formula cells within validation. When importing formula cell values into the application's workbooks from external source files, the formula cell values are, automatically and without notice, replaced with values calculated by the application. As the reporter import data to the workbooks from external source files, the reporter must be absolutely certain that the values imported into the cells are correct, especially cells that include formula references.

The data of the external source files must meet the specifications for the accuracy of reporting set out by the European Supervisory Authorities.

Files imported to the Reporting Application's workbooks from external source files (CSV or XBRL files) must comply with the specifications of files produced with the application. This prevents the need for unnecessary problem solving.
