Financial market participants
Finanssivalvonta, or the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA), is the authority for supervision of Finland’s financial and insurance sectors. The entities supervised by the authority include banks, insurance and pension companies as well as other companies operating in the insurance sector, investment firms, fund management companies and the Helsinki Stock Exchange.

Banks
The FIN-FSA’s banking supervision is responsible, in cooperation with the European Central Bank, for the prudential supervision of credit institutions.

Insurance
The insurance supervision of the Financial Supervisory Authority (FIN-FSA) has overall responsibility for prudential supervision of the insurance sector.

Capital markets
The aim of FIN-FSA’s supervision of markets and conduct of business is to promote confidence in the markets and the activities of service providers operating in them.
